EAV/Meridian Testing in Wellness Dentistry

EAV, or Electroacupuncture According to Voll, is a form of bioenergetic testing developed by German physician Dr. Reinhold Voll. It measures the electrical conductivity at specific acupuncture points on the body, usually hands or feet, that correspond to internal organs and systems.

By testing the body’s response to dental materials placed in a circuit with the patient, practitioners can identify materials that are energetically compatible or potentially disruptive.

In biological dentistry, EAV testing helps determine which dental materials—crowns, composites, cements, implants, etc.—are least likely to cause immune or energetic stress. Here's how the process works:

1. Baseline Reading: The practitioner measures energy levels at acupuncture points.
2. Material Testing: Different dental materials, often in sealed vials, are introduced into the circuit.
3. Response Evaluation: If a material causes a drop in energy or abnormal readings, the material may be considered incompatible for that patient.
4. Biocompatible Match: The material that maintains or improves the energetic reading is recommended for dental use.
